My Review:
I finished this book a couple hours ago and I cannot, for the life of me, settle on a star rating. I am going to say it's a 4.5 right now. Depending on how the rest of the series goes, I might have to come move it higher.
Man, there is a lot to unpack in this book! First, SJM had me rooting so hard for Tamlin to the point where I didn't think I could be swayed. Not only that, I hated Rhys so much and couldn't fathom liking him as much as I've heard every one else does. Now I can confidently say, both opinions have done a full 180 lol. I don't know how to verbalize the rest of my thoughts besides just WOW. I read this in a day, I couldn't put it down!
The way we're introduced to Velaris was just magical and the inner circle is such a safe space. There were multiple times I had to just sit and stare because the writing and everything that was happening was just too much to continue. I am now completely and utterly obsessed with Rhys and could never go back (the acting abilities of this man are crazy!).
The ending had me on the edge of my seat til the very end and I am diving straight into ACOWAR after that cliffhanger. Anyways, I feel like I'm the last person to read this series so I'm practically preaching to the choir by now.
