My Review:

This is about our main character named Persephone Fraser who is currently living in the city. When she receives a call from her home town, she goes. racing back. While she is there, she is taken down memory lane when she sees Sam Florek. Percy and Sam grew up as best friends, swimming in the lake, working at Sam's family restaurant, and spending the night with their nose buried in books. Until Percy made the biggest mistake of her life.

Now as they are forced back into each other's life, they realize that their connection is as strong as ever. But they can't be together unless they both can get over what Percy did all those years ago.

This is a past and present timeline, summer romance read. Many people have compared this to Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren and I would say they are extremely familiar. For some, the strong similarity caused them to rate this book lower but I really liked them both. I am a sucker for that nostalgic summer feeling and that's exactly what was delivered. I really liked the characters and their relationships with the side characters.

I didn't love the trope at the ending and that's what took it down a start for me. I didn't think it was very necessary and I think it definitely could have ended differently and it would've been much better. That being said, I still really enjoyed it and I can see myself re-reading it summer after summer because it really brings all the summery vibes. This is such a good beach read!
