My Review:

This comedic retelling of Queen Jane's nine-day reign is a delightful blend of historical fiction and fantasy, featuring Ethians—people who can shift into animals. Written from the perspectives of King Edward, Guilford Dudley, and Jane Grey, the story is both amusing and engaging. While the teenage characters can be a bit naive, they are endearing and well-developed within the comedic context.

The plot is generally well-paced, though it slows slightly in the middle. Despite a predictable ending, it delivers the closure you’ll be rooting for. The dynamic romance between Jane and Guilford is a highlight, and Edward adds a fresh, humorous angle to the story.

Each author’s writing style complements the others, and comedic intermissions fill in any plot gaps effectively. This book will appeal to fans of The Princess Bride. It’s a quick, fun read with romance, magic, and plenty of laughs. Highly recommended for those who enjoy a light-hearted historical fantasy with a satisfying conclusion.

Excited for more from this series!
