My Review:

This is the second book in the Knockemout series. It centers on Knox's brother, Nash Morgan, the police chief of Knockemout, Virginia, who is recovering from a traumatic event. This has left him with PTSD, causing panic attacks and nightmares, making him a shadow of his former self.

Nash's new neighbor, Lina Solavita, is an insurance investigator with her own traumatic past. She moves to Knockemout to recover a stolen Porsche tied to the accident that left Nash scarred. Although initially viewing Nash as a temporary fling due to her nomadic lifestyle, Lina finds herself drawn to him.

Nash and Lina agree to work together to solve the mystery if the unknown criminal wreaking havoc around the town. Will they help each other heal from their past? Or will their baggage come between them?

I was so intrigued how the mystery element would continue from the first book into this one and continue to be interesting. I really enjoyed the element that Lina's job brought to this story and the way Nash and Lina could work together. I think the trauma from both of their pasts was done really well. I appreciated the anxiety and PTSD representation especially since it was from the male love interest in the book. I feel like we don't see the vulnerable side of men often in romance books so it was really great. I wasn't as invested as I was in the first one but I still thought it was really good and didn't feel like it was too long!
